In an interview with the H3 Podcast Poarch told interviewers that her maternal grandmother had raised her in the slums from when she was 3 years old. Kenneth Taylor, an American ex-pat, and his wife Eden took her in. She said she worked on the family farm for 10 years and did chores. She is the older of two adopted older sisters, and has an older brother Bryner. At the age of 13, her family relocated to Texas in America. United States, except for two of her older sisters.
